Fenty Beauty, the globally recognised cosmetics brand founded by Barbadian superstar Rihanna, made its official Guyana debut on Saturday, March 28, 2026, marking a historic moment for the country’s beauty industry and signalling Guyana’s growing presence in the global retail landscape.
The launch was spearheaded by Glamour Beauty, Guyana’s premier beauty retail chain, founded by entrepreneur Varsha Sharma. The event was held at Glamour Beauty’s MovieTowne location and drew enthusiastic crowds despite unfavourable weather conditions, with many customers arriving with specific products already in mind.
Sharma revealed that securing the Fenty Beauty contract took approximately one year of negotiations, facilitated through a partnership with Miami based distributor Essence Corp, which is overseeing the brand’s Caribbean expansion. Guyana now joins more than ten Caribbean territories offering Fenty Beauty products through authorised retail channels. Notably, the brand had not previously been available anywhere in the Caribbean prior to this regional rollout.
“This launch proves that Guyana is no longer on the sidelines of beauty. We are part of it now,” Sharma said, adding that the milestone demonstrates Guyana’s capacity to deliver world class retail experiences.
Kimberly Layne, Regional Retail and Training Manager for Fenty Beauty, worked directly with the Glamour Beauty team to ensure the rollout aligned with the brand’s global standards. Saturday’s event featured live product demonstrations, professional shade matching services, and personalised beauty consultations provided by on site makeup artists.

Fenty Beauty, known for its commitment to inclusivity across a wide range of skin tones, had been highly anticipated by local consumers and beauty professionals alike. Local makeup artist and influencer Chantelle Sewett described the launch as more than a retail event, calling it a meaningful shift in Guyana’s beauty market.
“It is a huge deal. It is big for our country, the fact that we are being recognised,” Sewett said.
For consumers, the local availability of the brand eliminates the added costs and delays associated with overseas shipping, while ensuring timely access to new product releases as they arrive globally.
