Guyana’s International Building Expo 2026 is set to bring together local and international stakeholders across the construction and housing sectors for a four-day showcase of innovation, sustainability, and climate-resilient infrastructure, as the country marks a significant national milestone.
The expo will be held from June 25 to 28 at the Guyana National Stadium, under the theme “Guyana at 60: Building Strong Foundations for a Sustainable Future.” The event coincides with Guyana’s 60th anniversary of independence, lending added significance to its forward-looking focus on modern building technologies and sustainable development.
Speaking at the media launch on Thursday, Minister of Housing Collin Croal described the expo as a critical platform for uniting every segment of the construction and housing industry. He noted that the event would showcase six decades of progress in housing and infrastructure alongside emerging solutions including smart and prefabricated construction, climate-resilient designs, green technologies, and innovative housing models.
Croal emphasized that the expo has grown beyond a traditional exhibition into a collaborative space where developers, contractors, architects, financiers, suppliers, and technical experts can connect and explore ideas that support national growth. He added that the housing sector continues to play a central role in Guyana’s development, with expanded land ownership access, accelerated housing delivery, and infrastructure investments benefiting thousands of families across all regions.
The event is also expected to attract diaspora participation and create investment opportunities by linking local and international stakeholders while giving citizens direct access to information on housing options, financing, and emerging construction technologies.
Minister within the Ministry of Housing Vanessa Benn echoed those sentiments, stressing that the expo is designed to ensure every citizen benefits from the sector’s expansion. She encouraged homeowners, stakeholders, and diaspora members to attend, noting that the government’s broader development agenda is centered on long-term resilience and inclusive growth.
